Installing Windows 8.1

Go to solution Solved by EthanMcL,

Sure, you can pull the optical drive after the OS is installed.

Hi

This may be in the wrong forum section, but I'm not that familiar with the forums.

I'm planning on building my on pc, and for installation of my OS, i would like to use a seperate internal DVD drive, that I hook up for the installation.

The catch is that I would really like to remove the optical drive after installing the OS. Will Windows agree with this or will it cry murder and death?

The reason i don't install my OS from a Usb drive, is that I may sometimes have to install software and others by DVD.

Thx for your time.
