iPhone 8 to iPhone 13??

Hi, I’ve got an iPhone 8 at the moment and I’m gonna be buying a new phone as this one is very slow and cracked. I’m trying to decide between buying the 12 or the 13 the 13 being £100 more. So basically just asking if I should get the 12 or get the 13 from my iPhone 8. Thanks

Between the two I would save the 100.

Differences aren't great enough for me imo.

However I would wait closer to December- that's when the older gen gets cheaper- usually by a significant amount

Do you think the 12 will go down even more than it already has from the 13 being released?

Yes, far more than just a measly 100$ saving

If it were money I'd buy the iPhone 13, but mainly for the significantly longer battery life, 128GB base storage and camera improvements. But if you'd rather save money, the iPhone 12 is more than up to the job.

My thought would be how long do you plan to keep it.  If you keep general good care of your phone and run them for 3+ years, I would suggest getting the 13 as it would last longer...  If you will be updating in 2-3 years again, then go with the 12.

That’s a really good point actually, thanks. Yeah I try to keep the phone for as long as possible hence why I still have the 8 lol.

If that's the case, get the iPhone 13. The higher price will be worth it if you keep your phone for longer, and the extra battery life might be key to keeping that phone for longer.

Thanks for everyone’s advise I think I’m gonna buy the 13 coz it’s £50 more than the 12 if you go for the 128GB 12. Basically meaning £50 for a better battery and camera and longer lasting. If anyone still has anything to add feel free I will read it all. Thanks again

Get the small iphone man. I think it is called XR or something. Saw it in bestbuy couple times, that thing is downright cute. Looked so stylish and slick next to those bigger screen phones.

The only knock against my 12 Mini I just got month ago compared to the 13 Mini is the improved battery life and Pink colour option. Oh well... at least I got my 12 Mini for 300 bucks off MSRP so that makes up for it.

For the camera... I came from a 6S so either way it was going to be a huge improvement.

From my carrier. They were probably getting rid of their 12 inventory to make way for the 13. So I got it for about 21 bucks CAD a month over 24 months.

Oh that’s good then. What do you think about the size of it is not too small?

I love it. Coming from the 6s, it's nice to have a flagship(ish) that isn't humongous. To put into context, I have a XR as a work phone and trying to pull that out of my pocket is a bit of a hassle. And it's impossible for me to use that thing single handed. Not that using the 12 Mini single handed is a breeze, but it certainly feels more stable in the hand and I can still thumb through some text. With the XR, I always have the fear it's going to just fall out of my hands.
