Re-soldering a keyboard connector...Help!

Yesterday me and my friend Patrick found a dead usb piano keyboard (midi keyboard) in the trash bin. Apparently someone bent the mini-usb connector too hard, and all the pins fell out. 

 

Once we opened it up, Patrick insisted on me desoldering the connector and soldering in a new one, but I have no experience with soldering, help! 

Other than that, all the ROM chips and main chipset are all fine, but is it worth it to repair or not?

You cant really solder these on (or off). I attempted to do it couple of times before I got a hot air station but it never worked. You need to find the proper connector for it (there are various different ones even if they are micro B and use a temperature controlled hot air gun. If getting a new soldering station is out of question, you can try to solder a female USB cable to the board instead.

maybe I can rip it, I ripped a usb-A port before, sometimes it easier to rip ports and capacitors than to de-solder them

And also,  I have an arts-and-crafts heat gun, does that work with solder paste?

You might be able to remove USB A female connectors, if you have solderwick/solder pump and meticulous enough.

As long as it is temperature controlled (300-400c range) and is able to work under very low fan speeds, it might.

Soldering MicroUSB ports is a damn pain, especially trying to source the correct replacement. 
I've found success in just soldering in a new USB cable directly to the board on devices like that. A replacement port will just break eventually, if you solder a cable on you can cover it in hot glue and it'll last forever.

Thank you guys a whole lot. I already removed the port with a heat gun, tomorrow when the replacement port arrives, I will make an update.
