The only problem with quantum computers is as of right now they are slower than conventional computers for normal consumer tasks. They only really excel in places like massive calculations and when it has an endpoint that wants to be reached and it is trying to solve how to get to the endpoint.

Yeah "as of right now" but nearly instantaneous signal transfer is an extremely promising thing. If we get it up off the ground it could in theory be much faster than conventional computers.

here's my [mostly] outrageous bucket list:

  • build a computer with a dual-socket platform and a quad-GPU arrangement - doesn't matter what brand for either.
  • buy a VR suite and a driving simulator (the former can be part of the latter)
  • build/buy an "off-the-grid" house
  • buy something like a Google Glass (inb4 Big Brother is watching)
  • build my own supercomputer... i don't know what i'd do with it, but i wanna do this

Desktop: CM Elite 130 - Corsair CX600M PSU - Asus Maximus VI Impact - Intel Core i7-4790K (@4.4GHz) - Corsair H80i - 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 - Asus DirectCUII Radeon R9 290 - 250GB Samsung EVO SSD + 4TB WD Red HDD

Laptop: Asus N56DP-DH11 (AMD A10-4600M - Radeon HD7730M) -------------------------------------------------------- I know, I'm a bit of an AMD fanboy --------------------------------------------------------
