I've got an interesting issue with my Gigabyte R9 280x and I can't figure out what's wrong! I've attached a picture which shows the issue. As you can see in the mentio ed picture is the GPU load acting very strange. It used to be a lot more stable and consistent. This causes fps drops and is very annoying so if anyone have any clue to what's wrong please post an answer.

Looks to me like a card that's thermal throttling. Have you checked the CCC settings under overdrive? Or do you have a custom fan profile running? If so give the fanspeed a little bump and retest.

Also what temps are your CPU at this point as is it OC'd?

i've tested with full fan speed (noisy!!) but issue persist. also tested different drivers, upgraded to win 8 from 7. What's the most strange part is that the CPU temp seem affected by this more than the GPU temp.

My setup:

Asus M5A78L-M/USB3
AMD FX-8120 X8 3,1GHz Black Edition
Antec VP550P 550W
Corsair 8GB (2x4096MB) CL9 1600Mhz VENGEANCE LP
Gigabyte R9 280x
Samsung SSD 250GB
CoolerMaster Seidon 120
