Sata II and Sata III on raid 0?

Hi guys!!!!

 

I Have a corsair 64gb nova series which is a sataII and a corsair 60gb corsair forcegt which is a sataIII

 

is it possible that i could use this two for a raid 0 set up? 

 

will i get any performace issue?

i just thought that maybe i can use as boot drives...

im not 100% but wouldnt that limit the sata3 dirve to the sata2 drive's speeds.

Well, you would have sata 2 bandwidth, but i'm not sure if that would be a problem. The raid would work though. I'd just raid 0 it and see what happend, it will work fine.

Don't do it the Force GT will be bottlenecked , just install windows on the gt and the rest on the other drive.

Well, It would be about Sata3 speed in Raid 0, I have in my PC Sata3 SSD on Sata2 port (old platform) and for everyday use its fine. I have sandforce drive, so it is what it is after some time and when it gets filled.

 

You could use one drive as a storage for OS and other one for software it would be safer and possibly stable option.

I wouldn't recommend using RAID 0 with two different drives with different capacities, that's a recipe for disaster.
