The 212 isn't nearly silent though. It is however one of the best sub-$50 coolers. You could always swap the fan later.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I have a question. Should I get Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo or Cooler Master 212 X Army universal cooler? Both are the same price and I dont know which one to get. I dont really care if its silent, ofcourse not too loud.

Nine times out of ten, when a customer comes into the Micro Center where I work looking for a great aftermarket CPU cooler that won't "break the bank," I lead them straight to the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

if you want silent, swap the fan on the hyper 212 as it can be a bit loud stock,

30$ hyper 212 + 20$ silent fan still leave you on budget.

(don t trust the specs of cm fans it s been proven that they re awfully off)

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.

XIGMATEK Dark Knight II SD1283. Retails for $50 but you can usually get it on sale for $35. I would wait for that because it looks amazing and it will just barley fit in your case. It is 159mm.

+1 the dark Knight II can Compete with some of the larger heatsinks because of its fan & thermal coating, i have a Hyper 212 Evo and it does work well, but better can be found fo rthe same price.
