Hey folks,
Looking to get a 4770K + Maximus 6 Hero. Was about ready to buy from my #1 PC place here in Australia but then I saw NewEgg do International shipping.

Price from Newegg for both = $596

Price from Aus seller "PCCG" = $700.

Both prices factor in Australian dollar plus delivery. My only concern is the warranty that would apply on the CPU and Motherboard, what's Neweggs RMA like and what would you do?

Cheers

Be aware that the NewEgg site is in USD, and shipping would cost SOOO much

just get it from PCCG, they're amazing.

Check out the image above, it's a screenshot i took of my cart. It's in Aus Dollars and shipping is only $40. Still looking at $100 cheaper then buying from PCCG. I love the blokes there but $100 is a fair amount difference.

Oh, sorry, didn't notice that ;)

But I doubt the $40 shipping. I doubt it a lot. It can cost me $40+ to ship parts from PCCG (I live in Sydney).

So what do people think?
Good move to buy it from Newegg if it's $100 cheaper?

Would you also have to pay import tax? Sometimes its better to just pay the local price and get a local warranty.

Doesn't appear to be, when I select UK shipping it throws around $100 import Tax but nothing for Aus.

Emailed Newegg and they said it still comes with a full Warranty.

So save $100 now and IF something was to happen then surely it would only cost around $40 to ship back to the US.

Your local customs handle's the import tax find out with them, do you know how long it takes to rma something internationally? I'm guessing but its shipping two weeks, rma 4 weeks then shipping back 2 weeks thats approximately 2 months without a pc in a worst case scenario

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

Yeah mate. I'm currently dealing with that pain. My GPU is dead, sent it in for RMA and they had to send it to Taiwan cause that's where the manufacturer is so dying waiting for my GPU to come back.

There is no import tax or GST if it's kept under $1000...but the likes of Harvey Norman are trying to close it down to $100.  <_<
