Budget (including currency): 2700-800 CAD

Country: canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1080p gaming , non competitive, light schoolwork.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i know the 3070 is overkill for the 1080p monitor but as of right now this is the cheapest gpu i can actually get (a bundle at canada computers with the CPU i want)

however i have a couple minor annoyances

im looking for a case that's got good airflow, because im not sure about the corsair 4000d airflow. its perfect in every way except for the darn usb C port and i dont know how much of an impact it has

please check this build and tell me anything a newb wouldnt know, and maybe some possible alternatives for case!

i agree to what @RONOTHAN##said.  its pretty good, you dont need the aftermarket cooler unless you want the rgb lol. the motherboard is a bit overkill for the 5600x but its fine if you want to keep it.

Everything should be compatible, but if I were you I'd spend the extra and get something 3600MHz CL16 for the memory. If you need to save money somewhere, there's some cheaper RGB fans out there.

hmmm, is the boucne from 3200-3600 that worth it?

im going wiht corsair rn as im pretty much bound to the iCue system

besides, i want to know what  pcpartpicker means with that usb C incompatible warning?? its scaring me to death!

so yea im planning on no overclocking then the stealth is fine?

also then what would be better? i thought b550 was already the lower option vs x570s?

yea, if you dont care about rgb you can buy some ram thats 3600mhz but is about the same price.

theres a bunch of b550's but some are better for looks and overclocking. a good rule of thumb is to buy a motherboard half the price of the cpu. you can just buy the one you chose but you can cheap out a little if you want.

The 3200 to 3600MHz difference is about 5%, which for a $20-30 cost on a $2500 system, I would say is worth it.

As for what that USB C warning means, your motherboard doesn't have a USB type C header on it. If you want to use it, get a USB type C expansion card or swap out the motherboard for something else. The B550 Tomahawk should have it.

also why the heck did you buy a $250 keyboard........ im not going to judge.

ummmm i was at best buy and ngl the corsair keyboards were clicky asf... also, the k70 was the only keyboard there w/o a price tag, i thought it was around 150 and i was too lazy to check online....

CL16 is better, but if you can't find any for a good price, CL18 would still be better than 3200MHz.

It really depends on you and what you use for if USB C is useful. Besides phone/laptop chargers, I personally only have one USB C device, a flash drive that also has a type A on it. I don't think I've touched the USB C port on my laptop or desktop besides charging, so for me it doesn't really matter, but I personally like all the ports on my system to function.

I would switch out the NVME drive with one with dram. Typically, it will make the computer overall snappier and responsive. Here are some I recommend:

Its probably the best in that midrange side of full tower, youre in a good side of airflow.

But besides that youre really all good. I would replace the corsair RAM for a basic Crucial Ballistix at the same speed (even though theyre both well binned), and get yourself a cheaper board like B550 Gaming X by Gigabyte or B550-A Pro by MSI, which should let you be able to squeeze in 3080 with a bit of extra.

The SN550 does not have a dram buffer on it. There is also some controversy over them switching parts out silently. NVME drives are generally really fast even without dram, but when they get overrun they tend to slow down quite significantly over time. The Dram acts as a buffer to mitigate this. Typically if the gen 3 drive has read speed of 3000 mb/s or more, they have dram in them. Normally, they you can find one about $20 more than the dramless ones.

i think this mobo is good for now, since im only running it for 1080p, and its vain but i want the corsair because .... i Cue....
