Internet speed capped - Possible hardware problem.

Hello!

I'm new here, and I have a problem:

I have a 200Mbps internet speed from my ISP. However, in any download/upload speed teste that I run, my download speed hits only the 91 to 95Mbps mark. However, on my wife's computer, the download speed is nominal - 200Mbps.

I have a desktop PC, connected through an ethernet cable coming from my router, and soe does she.

I've tried setting up the adapter options to 1Gb, but even after that the download speed hasn't changed. My best guess is that there's a driver problem or something to do with the BIOS. My system is a little old but not THAT old (assembled it in 2018). I've tried to look around the BIOS' boot menu, but I couldn't find anything related to my problem (or so I think, I'm not really savvy when it comes to network issues). I've turned the router on and off, I've tried all the etahernet cables that I've got here, and I even called the ISP to check if there were any problems with the server, but, as they've shown me, traffic to my region was completely ok.

One more thing: the internet service comes from optical fiber - I don't know if this is relevant but I'm trying to be as thorough as I can be.

So... any ideas?

Just to show you guys that I indeed changed the network adaptor settings and that it does support my ISP's 200Mbps connection and more.

Go to the motherboard support page, download the eathernit driver there

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Just did that.... still nothing. 😕

Is there something wrong with my hardware? Or is there a way to install drivers that I don't really know?

Can you try switching the cables? Like using your wife’s cable for yours
