Hello everyone,

Budget (including currency): 1800€ (GPU excluded)

Country: France

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  Mainly for gaming (cyberpunk/the witcher or civ/stellaris types of game) as well as programming and virtualization.

Other details:

So, with the current GPU crisis i didn't have the luck to get one. But last week i bought a 3080 for around 1200€.

This leave me with a budget of around 1800€ to complete the build. With the announcement of the new Cooler Master NR200P MAX i would like to try to build in it. It should come with the PSU and IAO. I don't have any idea of the price in France but shouldn't be higher that the separate products right ?

I hope that it will launch in France on the 16th as well. Else i plan to go for the old model and use and air cooler instead of the AIO. Do you have any recommendation for the PSU and air cooler ? (and do you have any pictures of a setup in the purple case ? i can't find any outside of marketing material).

So the aim for the build is 1440p@240Hz in games (my main screen is a G7 Odyssey 32'').

So, here is what i have plan to buy:
https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/user/Imhp808/saved/#view=pLBkJx

Any thoughts on it ?
Any recommendations are welcome as it is my first build !

Are you planning to overclock? Because if not, You don't need that expensive board.

also, Don't get 970 Evo plus. 980 Pro is good, But expensive drive, But it's okey if you really need Gen 4 speeds, But 970 Evo plus is expensive, While not being good drive.

Look for cheaper alternatives, Such as A2000, Mushkin pilot E, HP EX920, WD SN750...

Hi, so i look at what you suggested @Dr0idGh0sT , i don't thing i will overclock anything (moreover in this SSF case). So i guess i only need the B550 (or should i downgrade futher to B450 ?).

For the drive the board have a Gen 4 M.2 so i would like to use the whole speedometer ^^(at least for this drive) and i can get it at 180€ on amazon which seems like a good deal.

But i don't get your point on the 970 Evo plus, it has good reviews and is even recommended in the SSD tier list (here on the forum) does something have changed ?

In the 2Tb capacity only the Mushkin pilot E and the WD SN750 exist, price wise (at least on pcpartpicker) the 970 EVO Plus is in the middle (and the WD, my second choice, is much more expensive) and is the only one with cache (does it influence the performance that much ?)

Edit: I guess a 2.5'' SATA SSD like the MX500 is an option too.

Yes, Get B550, B450 doesn't support Gen 4.

Samsung recently have been caught changing components in 970 Evo plus drive, That makes it slower. That's why you should avoid it.

Here is few drive options, Any of those will be good enough for storage and will save you good amount of money.

Great buisness pratice ... unfortunatly it is not reflected on the review on pcpartpicker. Thanks for the warning !

So i will settle for the Intel 660p.

In the end the build should look like that: https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/user/Imhp808/saved/#view=HtyYNG

Thanks for your input
