650D or Air 540?

Go to solution Solved by Izaya Orihara,

@Phage Thanks for getting back so quick and I see your point. I do just about have enough space under my desk for that huge cube! What would you say are the benefits of getting the 650d over the 540?

You may want to look into the newer 750D instead of the 650D. Also how about the H440? Im currently building a pc for a friend in it and it's so easy to build in. Luv it.

Hey, just to let you know this is my first post on the forum.

I am thinking of building a gaming rig shortly. I have more than likely found the components that I will be using apart from one thing. The case. I love the look of both the 650D and Air 540, but I just don't know which one to pick.

I love corsair products, but why do they have to be so good, they do your head in when you can't pick between two things!!!! :D

Let me know which one I should go for,

Thanks,

Smithy2402

Thanks, I haven't really though about the H440. I think the 750D is a bit overkill for what I will need, but I will certainly consider the H440

Air 540 should be an easy case to build in, and it separates the drives and PSU/cables from the rest of the system, so it doesn't impede airflow as much. I would definitely stick with that. You can mount five 140mm fans in it. If you want that sort of footprint out of a case, definitely buy it, it's an amazing performer. If you don't mind mid-tower or full-tower cases as opposed to desktops, then you could probably get away with something else. Both that and the 650D are excellent options. NZXT Phantom 630 and Silverstone RV03 are also great options.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Cooler Master HAF XM or X?

HAF series cases are, in general, really good. The HAF X is great, and the HAF XM is good, but I'd pick a Silverstone RV03 unless you don't want a rotated motherboard tray.

Thanks for the feedback! @Izaya Orihara It looks like I will be going with a 750D! What's your opinion on it @Dragonzeanse?

It's a great case but I think it's overkill. If you can find it cheaper than the 650D (I can), then get it anyway. But full towers take up a lot of space, so unless you don't plan to move it around or you have ample space to put it, pick the 650D.
