Windows 8 digital upgrade clean install?

So I bought win8 a while back when they had that offer for anyone who was on win7. I think it was £25 for the digital upgrade. Anyway, is there a way to do a clean install through the downloader? I think I remember there being an option to not save any data, but is that an actual clean install, or does it backup the files to a windows.old folder like upgrading from xp to 7 did?

A clean install deletes everything on the drive except the essential drivers ;-)

Any setup that you perform a clean install started within Windows will take Windows, including the registry, and the accounts related to it, and move it all to Windows.OLD. Then it installs itself. It will be exactly a clean install. Nothing from the old Windows will be carried over. Windows.OLD will be ready to be deleted.

F'ck windows.old, I still have 3 gigs there I can't delete

Because you don't know how to delete it.

Right-click on C:\ drive, select Properties.

Then click on "Disk Cleanup" button, then click on "Cleanup System files" button.

Then check all boxes, and click on OK.
