Trying to set up M.2

The main issue i’m having (this taking priority over windows installation) is that the M.2 isn’t showing up in Windows, as well as the bios (I think).

If the drive is not showing up in bios I would try another M.2 slot if the board has two. Recently on a gigabyte B560m board I was using I tried to install an Nvme into the slot closest to the socket and it didn't work in that slot I had to move it to the lower M.2 slot in order for it to show up. It was an Intel board so I'm not positive if it will help you in this case but it's worth a shot especially if the drive doesn't even show up in bios.

I just completed building my new pc for the first time, and everything is running fine, except for my Western Digital WD Blue SN550. I have a rog strix B550-F wifi mobo, and have the M.2 installed into the correlating PCIe 3.0x4 slot. Alongside the M.2 I have two HDDs and a SSD which I have been able to partition just fine in windows. I’m unsure if the M.2 is showing up in my bios, but it is for sure not showing up anywhere in windows, any recommendations?

(As a side note, once the issue is solved and hopefully the M.2 is recognized, how would I install Windows onto the M.2?)

So from what I understand, you have windows installed on one of the other two drives and you're trying to transfer it onto the m.2?

If so, you may need to initialize the m.2. There are YouTube videos showing how to do it, which would probably be easier to follow than if I typed out instructions.

As for transferring windows onto the NVMe, again there are YouTube videos showing how to do it, but it may be easier to just backup important files on a USB drive and completely reinstall. From personal experience, I've had issues when transferring windows from a HDD to an SSD which is a headache to deal with.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.
