AMD Ryzen 5600x and Hynix CJR (C-die) overclocking 2 * 8Gb dimms

Qk321

Hopefully this can save someone some time as I struggled to find examples of timings I could try that actually worked.

Specs: Ryzen 5600x is OC`d with PBO and other settings to run 4.7Ghz all core and 4.8Ghz single core

RAM: Klevv Bolt x @ 3200Mhz CL 16 18 18 38 1.35v and I`m running 2 * 8Gb dimms

I managed to overclock the ram to 3800Mhz CL16

Spent a lot of time going through trial and error regarding the best OC for the dimms and also what yielded the best results (I could boot as high as 4266Mhz but was not worth the performance penalty running async and 2T command rate)

Attached is my userbenchmark perf and I`ll also include AIDA 64 perf with zentimings screenshot of my current settings.

I used this guide which was very helpful https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4 OC Guide.md

Hope this helps.

Note: Calculation of tRFC:

To convert from ns (this is what you would type in your UEFI): ns * ddr_freq / 2000

I wanted 260ns so: 260 * 3800 / 2000 = 494 =tRFC

the current value of 475 is for 250ns.

EDIT: I found tRFC 250ns = 475 tRFC value to be unstable. tRFC 497 or 494 works and is stable

Included is a table to see what tRFC value corresponds to which type of ram and relative frequency

This is the best I could come up with regarding overclocking, if anyone has any suggestions to improve this please drop a message.

EDIT: Just to show I manually overclocked the 5600x and ran a cinebench R15 which gave me 2014 (in blue) vs PBO and manual scaling which gave me 2045

EDIT2: changed my RAM timings to 16-19-20-28 @ 3800Mhz and also changed ProOCT CAD Bus Strength settings which made improvement.

Rttpark was set to 34ohm

CPU VSOC was set to 1.0875v

CAD Bus Drive Strength config - all set to 20ohm

ProOCT set to 60 ohm or 53.3ohm (seems more stable)
