Hello I’ve been having trouble lately with vrchat and it’s been getting aggravating because I can’t get over 30 FPS and I get a lot of screen tearing and it’s basically unplayable my setup is I’m running a

intel i5 9600k processor

16gb of vengeance ram

GTX 1660 super graphics card 

2TB of storage 

and my vr setup is a oculus rift S I’ve been told by shouldn’t have any problem running but I do have a problem running it on low even and it’s also kinda hard to also run Pavlov vr too can someone help please thank you

Have you checked to make sure your thermals are not slowing down the CPU/GPU? Have you made sure there aren't any programs running that you don't want?

I'd highly recommend fpsVR since it allows easily monitoring system vitals through the HMD. That should be able to show you if you are having temp or CPU/GPU utilization issues.

 

I haven't used VRChat myself, but I do recall reading it was particularly intensive to run depending on what room you are in.

I ran into this issue with a RX 570. The GPU was already pretty borderline maintaining 90 fps but it got to the point where I couldn't get over 30-40 fps. I completely uninstalled ALL the oculus software and drivers and reinstalled. I believe it was some type of driver conflict. Fixed the issue.
