What is your goal? If you want to compare chips that are vastly different its about the best option out there. But if you want to compare cpus your probabaly gonna buy, use better review sites that compare it to the current competors.

Yup, what's your goal?  

 

It's information, but it's not always the best / most useful information.  

Example:
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/AMD-FX-8350-Eight-Core-vs-Intel-i7-6700/1780vs2598

There's a delta between those two CPUs?  But it's mostly a lie.  The 6700 will be SOOOOO much faster than the AMD There it's not even funny.  And at half the power draw.

So, yes it's reliable?  Sort of, but numbers aren't always telling exactly what they mean.
