Intel i225-V speed issues

Gohardgrandpa

Got a Asus strix B560 G gaming wifi motherboard and the wifi and Ethernet speed is awful.

It has the Intel i225-V inside and it's bad. I have 1,200mbps at the house and hardwired I can't get it past 500mbps.

Downloading large games sucks and if I can fix it with a card I'd be extremely happy, issue is I don't know what cards are actually worth a damn and need help picking one.

Dug around online and this is a big issue, I can't find a fix, I did all the Intel update firmware and driver things too.  Anyone have experience with this here?

Fast.com, ooklah speed test like I always have,  steam, Uplay, origin everything is slow as hell with this Asus board compared to my Msi board in the other PC I have.

On a msi z490 gaming plus wifi with a I9 10850k over wifi I get 8-900+mbps, hardwired I get 1,000mbps+

The Asus b560g gaming wifi that I'm having issues with says it's 2.5g thru lan and wifi AX like my msi board that has no issues getting the full speed.

Using the technicolor cgm4331 modem

Try testing on your local network, remove the isp as a issue.

I'm at work til 9pm so I can't physically troubleshoot at the moment

I've even used the msi board plugged into a Linksys re7000 range extender via Ethernet and pulled over 800mbps. There's an issue with this Intel i225-v and I cant find a fix
