Hi im not able to factory reset my Windows 10 laptop, i dont have the log in. I have tried the shift+restart but it doesent work. Is there anny other way to factory reset Windows 10 from the log in screen.

Reinstall Windows using a bootable USB drive which you can easily create with the installer. Though, all your files will be destroyed if you do this.

EDIT: The installer does have a feature to install while keeping your files, but I've never tried it so can't comment on how it works.

I am getting pretty fucking sick and tired of the "watch something else" responses. It's such a cop out answer because you could say that about basically anything, and it doesn't address the actual complaints. People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.

MKBHD is but an Apple propagandist and fanboy. Take his videos with a grain of salt, especially about anything Apple. In his video titled "I Visited Apple's Secret iPhone Testing Labs!", he has shown that he makes no effort to fact check Apple's claims, and takes it at face value. I do not believe he can be trusted as an Reviewer/Influencer.

Probably not. You can just select "I don't have a key", and it should work. Notice that I should instead of will, because there is a chance that this wouldn't work.

At least for me, every time I have tried to reinstall windows on a machine that already had windows 10, it has activated itself.

No

this is security and done intentionally.

you will at minimum require a windows ISO on USB stick to regain access to your system if you've locked yourself out.

if you are attempting to just wipe everything? than you can do it from the recovery console.

MAYBE!

if the laptop shipped with an OEM windows on it, and is fairly new, it'll likely be activated via digital rights management built into the laptop. If that's the case, when you install Windows, you just say "I don't have a key". once it completes installing it'll update correctly.

if the device is very very old and doesn't support the key embedded in the hardware. You will need your key before you continue. there are ways to extract your current key so that you can re-use it.

also keep in mind: Non embedded keys will need to be activated online directly with microsoft. As long as the same key is being used on the identical hardware, they are not likely to give you problems.
