I know it's not the latest and greatest on the Radeon side of things, but how is the performance on the RX560 for games that are mostly not super-demanding graphically?

I'm looking at it because its the only readily available Radeon GPU that's not laughably old stock (I can't believe how many HD-5770 era cards places still have in stock). Seems mostly floating around $200. I'm inclined toward the Radeon, as opposed to a 1030 or a 1050 Ti, because it's' going in a Linux system and the drivers are much superior. While I'm not totally committed to "cheaping out" on the graphics card, I don't need the sort of stuff floating around the scalper market, and don't trust buying that way anyhow.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

the rx 560 is a little worse than the gtx 1050 non ti, and slightly better in some dx12/vulcan titles. its good enough to game on if your standards arnt high, it can run even the most demanding new triple A games with settings low, but some stuff you will have to play lowest settings 720p 30-40 fps, playable but not ideal. on older/easier to run games it will be great and run everything 1080p 60, especially esports type stuff. you can get a used rx 460 2 gb which is similar in performance to the 560 for 100 on ebay if you want something cheap to hold you off. i mean get a 4 gig card if you can if its not much more expensive, but it seems the price difference isnt worth it for the 560/460 4 gb because the extra vram will only help in a few games beacause the card will often choke before even vram runs out. and dont get a 1030, the rx 460 which cost 100 dollars, is significantly faster in almost every dx 11 game and way faster in dx 12/vulcan, a 1050 ti would be a good option tho if you want something a bit better than a 460/560 , they are 200ish used on ebay.

Thanks. My concern on the 1050 Ti is the Nvidia drivers on a linux system are suboptimal. I can probably live with that if necessary. I'm trying to find the right compromise, but it might just be a placeholder until I can find a better solution.

Try to swing for an RX 570/580/590 or RX 470/480 or RX 5500 xt then. These cards will cost a bit more but will be way faster than the RX 560 and significantly faster than the 1050 ti.
