Recently i upgraded my gpu from rx 570 4gb to rx 6700 xt

Basically playing any demanding game on ultra settings at 144hz refresh rate, results in a crash in about 1 minute or less of playing.

What happens is - Game freezes and closes, sometimes even GPU shuts down, but turns back on in 20 seconds and the "driver timeout" error report tool pops up. I've already reported the issue.

I've tried stresstesting GPU and CPU with no crashes

Things I've already tried with no success:

  • Tried multiple older gpu drivers and yes, i used ddu.
  • Enabled/disabled XMP
  • Switching tuning mode to quiet

Tried and affected games:

  • Witcher 3 wild hunt
  • GTA V
  • Forza horizon 4

My Pc specifications:

  • OS - Windows 10 pro 64bit
  • Monitor - LG 27GL650F-B
  • Motherboard - B450 AORUS ELITE
  • PSU - Corsair CP-9020103-EU
  • SSD - ADATA XPG SX8200
  • CPU - ryzen 7 3700x
  • GPU - msi mech rx 6700 xt
  • RAM - Kingston HyperX Predator HX432C16PB3K2 2x8GB

Additional information:

My windows 10 hdr is enabled

The thing from event viewer - https://prnt.sc/1nwopoi

Driver timeout - https://prnt.sc/1nwmsm0

I would suggest running DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) on the 570 driver install - ideally in Safe Mode - and reinstalling the current driver as a fresh install.

It could, also, be another (chipset, maybe) driver that's causing the problem.

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

I installed clean version of windows instead. And also i disabled windows 10 hdr, it helped a little, i could game for longer periods of time, but still the drivers crashed.

The problem still persists... Maybe i should upgrade my motherboard to something more serious?
