Any experience running low-power chargers on lenovo laptops?

Have a flight lined up and I want to bring my Y540 laptop with me. Trouble is that there's no way I'm getting through the whole thing on a charge, even if I'm very conservative with my usage.

Previous experience has shown that the (frankly massive) power brick will simply trip the breakers on airliner AC plugs (which do 100W tops), so I've been looking at getting a lower-powered adapter (which is on paper easy to do) and just accept that I won't be able to game at full power for hours on end.

 

Trouble is that I've seen evidence to suggest that some of these laptops simply won't accept a slow charger, but no hard confirmation for the most part.

 

Does anyone have any actual experience with this sort of tomfoolery?

As far as I've experinced with Lenovo laptops when using a smaller charger is that as long as the charging voltage matches that of the bigger charger then it would slow charge.

Although this was only on their bussiness and their Thinkpad lines of laptops so I can't garantee the same will be true for their high power gaming laptops.

You can't use usb c chargers on Y540, so short answer is no
