2060 or 3060

AVC625

I dont have any GPU at all at the moment and should I'll be waiting for the prices to come down on both cards, but should I wait that bit longer for the price of the 3060 to come down or just get the 2060?

The 2060 was a poor value card when it came out and is a worse value now. It performs about the same in rasterization as many other cards that could be had for around the same or less money, and it doesn't actually have the power to do ray tracing in games at an enjoyable frame rate.

The 3060 is itself a rather disappointing card in terms of how much performance uplift it gets over its predecessor but it's adequate. I would hold out for the 3060 or better.

Is there any other cards that I could use instead of these?

Yes, of course?

The GTX 1070, 1070 ti, and 1080, the Vega 56 and 64, and the RX 5700 and 5700 XT all perform in the ballpark of the 2060 in rasterization (non ray tracing). Some a little worse some a little better. The RX 6700 XT is a close competitor to the 3060 and 3060 ti.

Some of those cards may be just as expensive or more, and some of them you'll only be able to find used.

Buyers remorse man, theyll get to you really fast. Especially considering that 1660 Super can pretty much neck out the 2060 in any non RTX titles (so like, a lot of them), even in bone stock non overvolted OC.

I'd just wait. I wouldn't spend twice it's retail price, especially for the 2060 which is probably about 3x what it should be priced at.

Can't get anything on the used market?

That might be bit problematic. MSRP is suggested price at launch. For 2060, that price does not count the fact that its older card or performs worse. You are better with looking the actual price by retailers, or used prices for 2060 as its unlikely any retailers have those at this point. So in short, look at only the prices you would be paying now and with 3060, see how much over "msrp" it currently is.
