PSU doesn't work correctly

that's true but eh I got my hands on another PSU this one seems to be ded or something maybe CPU power cable is dead idk

I have this spare be quiet PSU on a whopping low 350W but it's for a media center but for some reason it doesn't power on when I press the start button only when I short the 24pin connector

Do you have the front panel connectors plugged in correctly?

Does it power on when you short the power heather on the motherboard with a screwdriver?

Is the PSU modular?  If it is,  you're not using the wrong cables for it, are you?
