I recommend Z590 instead of Z490 for guaranteed compatibility

And consider the AMD alternative, more faster cores

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

So if you want AMD, get a 6 Layer PCB Motherboard (I know for sure that the Aourus B550 Pro V2 has one) and a good Aircooler. Then you are ready to overclock. Also go for CL16 3600MHz Ram, if you have the budget for it. Maybe even a bigger Case, the 5000D Airflow is well within your price range and has more room to build in.

Included a PCIe Gen 4 Boot Drive, and you can add what you want for storage (best choice: Some good SATA SSD's).

Go with a B550 because a X570 does not make a whole lot of sense, as every B550 Board is overclocking capable and has almost the same features. Just a bit less PCIe Gen4 lanes, but that wont matter in real world performance.

1600 Watt is Overkill. Your GPU may draw 400 if you overclock crazy. CPU typically not more than 300 watts heavily overclocked. So if you add fans and drives and rgb, you may even draw another 50 watts. So an 850w PSU should be sufficient, but I added a 1000w unit, just to have more headroom for overclocking.

Just an intermittent response. I never really looked at AMD simply because of habbit. I'm going through all the lists and comments that everybody has made here and trying to get a better understanding of the rational behind them.

Already a lot of thanks to everybody for your feedback. I will update this post going forward.

Maybe something like this?

5950x 16 core, might be overkill but it will shred productivity programs

Liquid freezer 420 cause good for if you wanna oc or if you dont oc good for quietness

B550xe, overkill if you dont oc but might aswell have the ability and headroom to oc

Kept the rgb on the ram since it wasnt that expensive to implement it

Enthoo pro so the cooler can fit xD

The extra 2 fans are supposed to be placed on the bottom of the case since the aio is at the top of the case so a bottom to top airflow

Gpu is up to you but maybe a 3080 or 3090

The NH-U9B SE2 is a discontinued product. More importantly it is not able to provide an i9-11900K sufficient cooling power for optimal clocks. Consider an NH-U12A instead.

Z490 is a generation older than the cpu. It would make much more sense to use a Z590 motherboard. That way the gpu can take advantage of the PCIe 4.0 lanes for slightly better performance. You could also then spend on a PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive. The Samsung 980 Pro or WD SN850 are good choices.

If you are aiming for a performance oriented gaming system, I would suggest better performing memory. DDR-3600 CL16 appears to be optimal for Rocket Lake.

64GB is overkill. Get a 2x16GB kit.

Small cities can be powered by a 1600W psu. Well hamster cities at least. 😁 A good 1000W psu is more than enough. In fact since Nvidia suggests a 750W psu, I would suggest an 850W RMX, Focus GX / PX, or Prime TX.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
