  1. asked what are items we need get
  2. and what steps to clone

 

answer seems to be

  1. get 'usb to sata cable'
  2. or 'enclosure' that works for 2.5 size drives

 

someone couldve just said that as 1st reply after op....

 

here, asking whats best clone software and why?

what tests show whats best clone software and why?

 

google isnt helpful for this like its not for many things, just has bunch of links from spam sites with random options

it would be better to copy off the data you want (if any) then reinstall windows.and check with crystaldisk or something .

i mean i know thats not exactly  what youre asking but youre also saying something is broken and it doesnt make sense to "clone" a broken drive or os, it'll probably still be broken on a new drive and you're non the wiser.

 

So either the drive is broken or the os corrupted… only way to find out is install an os and check or connect the drive to something else with a compatible os and check (with something like crystaldisk)

why would it be better you didnt say, i dont know if you're a reliable source, you didnt explain anything

 

sites say that this is not better, do you know anything about cloning? things said is opposite that of info about cloning
