hey, I want to live stream and I've try ed it in the passed but I only got 1000 bit-rate, but I like live streaming and I want to know what to upgrade?

I live stream battlefield 3 and sometimes minecraft

pc specs:

processor: AMD A8-3870 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 3.00GHz

RAM: 8.00GB

graphic card: Nividia geforce gtx 750 ti

motherboard: gigabyte ga-a55m-ds2

Live stream software: OBS (Open Broadcast Software)

internet: 3419470578.png

I have 2 monitors I will get later 3 monitors (I only need a cable and i'm set) so I can stream easy)

I will get a better internet in a few months and the promised numbers  are:

120 MB download

10 MB upload

I wish to live stream in 1280x720 with 2500 bit-rate and 60fps with no drops

DO i need any hardware upgrades?

DO i need other software? (to live stream easy)

(I am planning to buy a new motherboard and a new CPU)

If you have any experience or any tips with streaming please response

if you have any questions feel free to ask.

if you read it so far thanks for being interested ;)

60fps stream is pretty demanding, keep that at 30fps.

I think you will be fine. I stream at 2560x1440 (I have a 780ti) with 20mbps down and 4mbps up and I stream just fine.

Also in the future dont get a APU with a dedicated graphics card, I heard it makes the card not perform very well at all.

Edit: My GPU and CPU are a AMD8350, GTX 780ti

I don't use the APU, the APU was in the begin a cheap solution to my budget ;) I fully use and only use the Nvidia gtx 750 ti now

The A8-3870 is fairly weak for something like live streaming. I'd suggest upgrading to something like an AMD FX 8320 + ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 /  Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 or Intel 4670k + ASRock Z87 Extreme4 / Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H (need some input on Intel mobos here, not really familiar with them).

As for the streaming part, I'd suggest streaming at 30-45FPS instead of 60FPS as it'll give you better better looking frames (overall better picture quality) and Flash (what Twitch uses) is a bit iffy with high frame rates and it'll force people who watch your stream to use more CPU to decode the video. With 3000kpbs, you should be able to stream with a total 2500kpbs, unless your internet suffers from the strain. Dedicate 2300 to video and 160 to audio.

is there an advantage of amd or intel? processor (I don't want to start a war, just want to know if there is a difference with streaming)

AMD is cheaper for both CPU and motherboard (usually) and the extra cores come in handy when streaming, but the Intel usually outperforms AMD in most tasks and costs more. All games are different and I suggest looking up benchmarks comparing both sides before making a decision. Some games + streaming on the side favour AMD, others favour Intel. Personally I've had no problems streaming BF3/BF4, ARMA 3 and DayZ with my AMD FX 8350.

yes, with the amd 8350 xsplit will take advantage of those 4 extra cores, im pretty sure OBS does as well.

ok, thanks ;) but are there cheaper solutions? because I need to buy a motherboard and a cpu at the same time, the asus motherboard is perfect, but the 8350 is a bid expensive for me, could you post a top 3? of best choices? that would be Super!

I have 30 download and like 5 upload with a GTX 660 and can stream 60 FPS with 1920x1080 and 2500 bitrate but that's only playing TF2 which isn't THAT demanding. The question is what are your settings on BF3? How many frames do you get on the game and what's your ping usually? If you already get less than 60 frames and more than 70 ping than I wouldn't consider streaming at all.

but what if I get 50 fps and have a ping of 30? could  I then stream at 30fps ? or 45 fps?

Just incase anyone is not aware : its 99% certainly Mb not MB you are getting - Network traffic is measured in MegaBITS per second. Storage of data is measured in MegaBYTES. I see people get this confused all the time. The good news is that this makes the math a lot easier for working out the bitrate you can go to!

10Mbps = 10 000kbps theoretical bandwidth. (or, seeing as there are 8 bits in a byte : 1.25MB/s of data - again theoretically)

I say theoretical because you wont actually get that in practice - there is a lot of extra information attached to every packet that's sent!
