Hey, I am new to this forum, so I hope that I've posted this at the right  place... If not, sorry.

I've got a little problem with a broken GPU cooler (reference design) for my HD5850. The fan is still rotating, but in an annoyingly loud way.

I don't want to buy an expensive new graphics card since I plan to spend the money on a new PC in maybe a year or two but I need a silent machine now.

I just wanted to hear if you guys can recommend any super cheap cooling solutions for my card since I am having trouble to find a fitting cooler for less than the price of a new GPU or if you think that it's cheaper to just get a super cheap new card. And if so, which one for under 50$ would you recommend? :D

Thanks a lot

I think you can get a faulty HD5850 off ebay for that, find one with a dead GPU but working fan, thats your only option for that price other than taping a 120mm fan to the card. @flown

Ninja edit: Or the Arctic Accelero L2 Plus, didn't know it was that cheap.

AMD Ryzen 5900x, Nvidia RTX 3080 (MSI Gaming X-trio), ASrock X570 Extreme4, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB @ 3200mhz CL16, Corsair MP600 1TB, Intel 660P 1TB, Corsair HX1000, Corsair 680x, Corsair H100i Platinum

That cooler is supported, maybe one of the arctic coolers will work, im not too sure, i would recommend that you upgrade however, a 7750 can best your card and its not much more and it runs on fairy dust, honestly its like 40watts

This looks promising... But do you think that it will deliver similar temperatures than my preinstalled cooler? I am not that experienced when It comes to that kind of stuff.

To the posts that recommended an upgrade: Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't want to spend that much right now and I don't really need my pc for games at the moment. It is mainly a facebook/youtube machine (I know, it's sad). If I can't fix my 5850, I would need a REALLY cheap card like, for example the GT610? It doesn't need to run Star Citizen, It would just need to play HD videos.

My next post will hopefully be about my next, more high techy build :)

Their site says it can deal with the heat so I would imagine that it does, if you don't think it can however there are slightly more expensive and better versions available. I don't think it would be necessary though as that card should put out much heat.
