Hey guys i just have a quick question in regards to this CPU and how it handles VR games and streaming on the same time. Now i know it only a 6 core processor and can only do so much but i got a little bit of shudder while playing a vr game and was wondering can streaming and gaming be to much for this processor ?

It should be fine, it's a very fast 6 core CPU. The stuttering you experienced could be due to lack of RAM. How much RAM do you have?

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

you might want to get a r7 3rd or 5th gen for streaming while playing

(r7 3rd gen is a few fps less than a r5 5th gen but its more optimal if your streaming)

You can use your graphics card to stream. Got an Nvidia GPU? Enable NVENC. Got AMD? Try their hardware acceleration.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

Yeah i got a 1650 super.

With the Turing encoder that it's equipped with, you would get a high quality streamusing NVENC, without having to worry about CPU resources.

Oh okay so its a setting that i can enable in the OBS settings ?

Yes, it's between software encoding (h264) and NVENC. I don't remember what the name of the setting is called but I do know that it's really easy to find, last time I went into the OBS settings.

Not necessarily. The largest majority of games right now run fine on 6c/12t, but there's already some that use more. Cyberpunk will easily scale to 12c/24t. You're going to see that trend accelerating in the future. It may take another year or two, but 6 core is going the way of quad core before it.

6 core will last a few more years. Quad core was the mainstream since budget c2q until like 9th gen Intel/r1000.
6 core will probably be the mainstream for consumers for at least 5 more years if I had to guess.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)
