Windows Defender Offline Scan Problem

Now for various reasons I had to reinstall Windows 10 on my computer.

I am going to publicly state I hate how difficult it is to schedule scans with this OS, but I digress.

I try to do the defender offline scan. I then get the blue screen saying "Your PC/Device needs to be repaired" A required device isn't connected or can't be repaired.

I get error code 0x000000d.

Now I will reboot after this and everything works find. I check device manager everything looks fine.

Can someone point me in the right direction where to find (and hopefully fix) the problem?

What causes 0xc000000d?

I saw that, but here's the problem.

Think about it. I could reset my computer 1,000 times. No security scan it's fine.

I do an offline security scan I get the error.

I need some help narrowing the problem down.
