Upgraded wifi plan... Now it's speed got worse

I upgraded my wifi plan from 20mbps to 50mbps....,now my laptop gets full bandwidth but my mobile is getting around 10mbps only..

Can anyone explain whats happening?

And also when i used hotspot from laptop...my phone got way more speed.

If your landline internet connection speed was increased, this is a tier upgrade, not a WiFi plan upgrade. Did your ISP also provide a new modem or gateway? If so, what make/model?

 

If you’re using cellular data and you upgraded to a new tier, that also isn’t a “WiFi plan upgrade”.

 

What speeds do you get when you’re directly plugged into the ISP device with ethernet? If you’re getting 50Mbps then the ISP has fulfilled their promise to you as they’re only expected to ensure speeds at the wired level. Once you get to WiFi, there are many factors that can interfere and affect the speed that clients can achieve.

 

What is the make/model of your phone? And the make/model of the wireless adapter on the laptop?
