How to use on board profiles for G-Hub?

I can't believe I need a tutorial for a function that worked perfectly in the old software. I just got a new mouse as my 700s was acting up, a 604. Now I have to use the stupid G Hub software and it's absolutely dog turds. I liked being able to just transport my mouse to wherever and keep all my mouse settings. The 604 is supposed to have the same functionality. I can turn on the on-board memory, but I can't actually edit any of the profiles unless I turn it off, and there doesn't seem to be a way to switch the profiles without using G Hub which defeats the entire point. For having a dedicated useless button to switch between 2.4 and bluetooth for "different devices" you'd think this would've been a key focus point.

How in the hell do I just set it up to have on-board profiles I can switch between?

I mean, Logitech even has a tutorial .pdf that doesn't explain it. If you need to make a 124 page document to explain how to set up some light colors and keybinds, you fucked up your UX.
