So my current problem is computer shutting off when under load, mainly just after a game has loaded in.

I have checked my RAM and run a diagnostic test all passed perfectly.

I have done a stress test and diagnostic test on the CPU and passes easily.

I have stressed tested the GPU and it runs fine.

I have tested different power management options.

Checking the event viewer after the system has shut off shows a Kernel-power 41 (63) error

Only thing I can think of is my PSU can't supply enough power when CPU and GPU are hitting peaks at the same time.

System Spec:

OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit

MB: ASUS TUF GAMING z490-PLUS

CPU: Intel i9-10850k (no overclock)

GPU: Gigabyte 1080ti Aorus Xtreme edition

RAM: 32GB (4x8GB) Corsair Vengeance RBG PRO 3600MHz (XMP 2.0 enabled, system shutoff still happens when disabled)

PSU: Corsair CS650M 650W (It is about 6-7 years old)

Power supply I am thinking of getting is the ASUS ROG Platinum Modular 850W (high wattage for eventually upgrading GPU)

Is this a good PSU to get? or do you have any other suggestions. (yes I know this one is high in price but I like the look of it)

It's a horribly expensive Seasonic Focus Platinum. Personally, if I were you, I wouldn't choose.

Thank you for letting me know, I don't mind the price as it looks good aesthetically good but I would only pay the premium if it was also a good quality PSU as well.

This should help you select a PSU. For your system ideally you'd want an A-tier unit.

I have looked at the Tier list and I'm not sure if I need to choose from multi-rail or single-rail, I don't know much about PSU's and not sure what would be best for me. thank you

It's not the worst, but you can also get a much better PSU for a similar or cheaper price (EX - Corsair HX).

Also keep in mind that they only give LED a 3-year warranty.

Where do you buy a PSU?

If you don't mind the price of it, are fine with the crappy fan (downgraded from an already bad FDB fan to a DBB fan), the OLED screen dying after 3 years, potentially not being able to use it with high end GPUs, and you only care about the aesthetics, then it should be alright. Otherwise, where are you buying from? Since the availability and pricing will vary.

Do you have to flip the switch at the back of the PSU before restarting the PC?

I would only pay the premium if it's a generally good PSU but I guess it's not really that great of PSU.

I am from Australia and I generally buy my components at PC Case Gear or JW Computers.

The computer turns back on by it's self most of the time, so no I don't have to flip the switch.
