How can I isolate audio devices?

FlpDaMattress

Audio isolator exist tho

Ethier passive which is transformer based and active which is optocoupler based

The passive one is "cheaper" and easier to find but it decreases overall gain of the signal though since you connect it to vfd, i don't think it matters

Hello robots, I have this vacuum florescent spectrum analyzer/ clock that I really don't want to get rid of, but it's introducing a buzzing sound into my headphones. My setup isn't complicated, just a 3.5mm to RCA from my pc to a Schiit Magni 3 Heresy and a Y splitter to the VFD display and my Senheiser HD558's. What is the best way I can isolate the Display while still keeping it connected to my audio system? I've tried software to output to multiple audio sources but never got it to work right.

I would put the spectrum on the back RCA.

I bet that analizer is grounding though the headphone jack but going thought your headphones.

So what you're sugesting is the VFD display is grounding back into the Magni amp and introducing noise into the rest of the system, Would something like this work?:

also here's a diagram of my full setup I spent too much time drawing if it helps

no its going though the splitter that the headphones are on.

you plug the VFD in the RCA's on the back of the amp.

That's what i'm already doing though, You can't use the RCA on the back and 5mm output on the front at the same time. it just outputs to whichever is plugged in first

Audio isolator exist tho

Ethier passive which is transformer based and active which is optocoupler based

The passive one is "cheaper" and easier to find but it decreases overall gain of the signal though since you connect it to vfd, i don't think it matters

I just ordered a passive one, the VFD is something I got off ebay so perfect accuracy was never my goal to begin with. just looks really cool lol
