A modified version of your list .-.

10850k cause literally the same price as 5800x but 10 cores and single core performance is still good, for efficiency you can do 4.7-4.9 all core w 1.2v or less, for performance you can mess with dynamic oc which is a ton of trial and error or just all core oc till your cooler cant handle it anymore which is less trial and error

Fuma 2 cause aios are unecceaary and really drive up the price, and this one is not too thicc so working around the socket isnt a pain in the ass

Decent z490 board

Upgraded ssd to 1tb nvme and hdd to 8tb

Cheaper case cause asthetics are expensive

Better psu

And before you go "what about upgradability?"

By the time the 10core isnt enough the next next gen platform would have already released so you can upgrade to that

Get the crucial p1 drive as it is better than the sn550 for the same price and then I'm fully on board here.

Ryzen would probably be the better option here if the main occupation was video editing but it seems more like a "oh yeah also some editing" thing.

Tbh 10900f has 10cores, decent singlethread, and is often cheaper than a 5800x

so unless if were talking 5900x and 5950x which intel do not have counterparts for, intel is actually better for lower budget video editing and gaming, whilst ryzen is better for video editing cause they have 12 and 16c cpus

and yes ryzen is futureproof but then again by the time a 10c cpu isnt enough, the next next gen platforms would have already released, meaning that next gen would be cheaper

then again with  next gen having ddr5 and stuff like that, i guess the futureproofing of ryzen isnt a useless advantage cause who knows maybe next gen has some issues and only next next gen has fixed those issues

so by the time an 8core 5800x is not enough you can still upgrade to a 16core and by the time a 16 core isnt enough, next next next or even next next next next gen would have already released meaning all the potential stability issues have been fixed

Yeah I was talking about the 5900x here. Forgot to include it.

Either way both platforms are DEAD ENDS here so what you see now is what you get.

Where you getting that info from ? The SN550 is the better SSD. Also the P1 is currently $132 for the 1TB so definately not worth it.

CPU Cooler : If your going with this type of budget and this type of CPU, take a 3ple radiator.

RAM : take 3200Mhz instead of 3600Mhz. The huge bump in performance is from 2666Mhz to 3200Mhz. Higher is a waste of money, pushing for the 50+ points you can get in cinebench. Useless. Just make sure the timings stay at cl14/cl16.

GPU : Dont take 20 series. The RTX 3060 ti has the same price as the 2060 (at msrp) while having better performances. I whould wait for stock to come back up and take 30 series. Btw your GPU will be a bottleneck for the CPU, take better than 3060 ti.

and an aio cos  i dont want noise

You could go for a Noctua NH-D15, it is hella quiet and has better cooling performances than some AIO's (around 100$)

A liquid freezer 280 slightly beats it in performance whilst being abit quieter

The d15 has reliablilty as its advantange

Tbh if op isnt gonna oc and doesnt mind a brick of a cooler when working around the socket, the d15 is a better choice

Maybe go for a fuma 2 as a middleground between aio and air

Performs similarly to the d15, reliable, and not a literal brick so working around the socket isnt a pain in the ass

Yeah aircoolers are a pain in the ass to work with. But once it's in place you will be thankfull for not spending useless money on a corsair AIO for your Ryzen 5

Actually they are great to work with cause of how simple they are, its only the extra thicc and chonky air coolers that are a pain in the ass to work with

If your pump fails in an aio then you have to replace the whole thing and its not visible if it fails

If your pump fails in a custom loop atleast its replacable but thats a massive pain in the ass cause if water spills on your pc then youll have to wait atleast 24h for the water to dry, and if it hits any spot that has thermal paste in it like the chipset heatsink, then get ready to dunk that entire part in a tub of 99% isopropyl alcohol cause thats how you thoroughly clean a pc component, ive even poured it in cpu sockets and waited 24h for it to dry and next day my board works fine again

Yeah obviously that sucks. What I was pointing out was mostly the big heatsink that blocks you from putting ram or remove or even plug in cables. With the AIO the pump is relatively small you are bothered by the pipes of course and some more work to put the radiator but yeah obviously it's way more likely to have problems although I've never had any with an old Corsair water cooler that ran for almost 7 years on an old PC.
