hi guys, i'm new here. I just finished watching the new linus video on notebook webcams that still suck a bit compared to smartphones and external webcams, after I finished watching the video I thought ... (how to improve the webcams without compromising the beautiful frames fine .. I open blender i made a fast (ugly) rendering and here it is .. and if they added a notch to the notebook displays .. the one oriented for productivity we would have higher quality camera with bigger sensor and reduced frames .. obviously not my weird notch this is a simple  idea .. sorry if I make grammatical errors I'm Italian I don't speak English very well .. Anyway .. the judgment to you .. what  do you think? is it worth it?  This is just the panel

The Problem is not, that there's not enough bezels, so no need to such an ugly Notch, that might work on Smartphones, but would be stupid on Displays. This just wouldn't work, because so much workspace would be gone. Applications aren't meant to work with a Notch, on Smartphones it's not that bad, since they're so tall anyway.

Notebook's biggest space problem is height, so this would make it even worse, while not solving the Problem itself. Most older Laptops have thick bezels too, and some even today (like a few oldschool-looking Thinkpads), their Webcam isn't better.

It's how Thin the Displays are, there is simply not enough room. A modern Smartphone has like 3-4x more "depth" for a large sensor.

Also, there's another Reason, not just the Sensor difference:

Yeah I remember .. The difference between laptop camera and Smartphones.. Much different in term of communication.. I just forgot when I saw the linus video.. maybe it was too late when I started thinking about some ideas 🤣.. Sometimes staying up at night generates stupid ideas and thinks that I have done numerous renderings first with fusion 360 and then with Blender, to make this.. anyway .. stupid idea
