if there's a Microcenter near you, you can buy an OEM LG blu-ray burner for $59.  I tell you this drive is fantastic! beside CD-R/RW/DVD-R/RW/DVD-RAM/BD-R/RW/LTH,  it can also burn triple and quadruple layer BD-R's and MO DVD-R media which are made of stone that lasts for 1000 years...LOL!!  it also has a plethora of features.  This incredible drive can burn dirt cheap crappy golden Windata double layer DVD+R flawlessly.  But in order to do that, you have use the latest version of Image Burn (freeware) and have automatic optical calibration turned on.  It burns double layer blu-ray recordable flawlessly.  Probably the best  optical drive I've ever owned....it makes my previous Pioneer burner look like a joke.

if you do get the drive, make sure you flash it with the latest firmware.

i got a LG BD-RW drive for dirt cheap at Frys i have had it for 2.5 years and it works grate (at lest the BD/DVD/CD read i have never written to a BD yet)

and i see them go on sell often so keep a eye out for sells on the LG ones 

 

one thing to keep in mind is windows can not play or write BD you will need power DVD 9 or up or some other software like that
