Evening all,

Long story short I broke my Mrs Laptop while back need to replace it and coming up short with solutions, we're both learning programming so just need something that could power along with that nicely and ofc able to browse would be nice.

I'm running a Dell Latitude E5410 upgraded the battery and ssd but that is it and does the job very well in my opinion but not sure what to get her?

My big factors are money is very limited budget is maybe £150 at a push £200 but that is where "You get what you pay for" just springs to mind so thinking a ebay job but just cannot shake that feeling its a scam or what if it breaks a month later that would be devastating to spend what we have only for it to go up in smoke. Is there any form of warranty via ebay itself?

I'm at a loss anyone gone down the route of ebay laptop?

Lenovo Thinkpad T430 - T440 should be a good starting point.

Put any linux distro on that beast, and enjoy getting into the world of programming.

If youre unsure about authencity of an listing, you should go for resellers that are actually registered as commercial resellers on ebay.

They usally agree to refund in a couple days (dont quote me on that, it may differ from seller to seller)

This seem to good to be true or have times just passed I've been out the loop £140 seems very cheap for 8bg i5.

Definitely just behind the times. That's a pretty average price for such an old machine that was likely an old enterprise device.

That said, it should do what you want fairly well.
