looking for a super quiet build but i know nothing about fans and the such

i'd say i have a nzxt cooler (idk which model bc i bought i custom built from someone and they didn't give me the invoice)

would it be possible to switch out the cooler fans and what size would i need?

i think my cooler is a 240mm

also where would the 140mm and/or 120mm fans go?

120 to the rear? please give me a rundown of how fans work

my case still has quite a lot of space

thanks! 🙏

p.s. currently looking at a Noctua 120mm Redux Edition PWM Fan

would this be able to go in the rear of the case?

Yes, No, and Maybe.  Probably.  Possibly.

You haven't told us anything useful about what you have.

you *might* have a 240mm cooler.  So presumably an AIO?

We don't know your case or anything else.

Uhhh....  Yeah, Noctua fans are awesome, if expensive.  Arctic PWM are almost as good, but way cheaper.

You would want high static pressure pressure, low RPM fans.

Now, since you have a aio, you can't get anyware near as effectively silent as you can get with a air cooler, the pump just has to be going fast enough, otherwise performance will take a huge hit.

Why do you want it to be so dead quiet? Will you not be using headphones?

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Also depends on the level of cpu your running.

I wanted to make my 5950x silent but she runs so hot I cant

Just make it clear man, Like what is your current build, What is the AIO, What is the case

As long your case has a 120mm Fan mount you should be good

Computer fan work by using a rotor at the center of a fan, There are 3 Fan connector:

1. 4 pin PWM (Just a fancy way to control the speed of fan, Plug to the motherboard or a PWM fan hub)

2. 3 pin DC (Same as the PWM, Plug on to the Motherboard 4 pin or 3 pin, Or a DC fan hub)

3. Molex (Non adjustable fan, plug on to the PSU)

a good case with good airflow,

a beefey cpu cooler.

water cooling can be quieter but cost way more. but you can expand it to get dead silent.

past that liquid metal would also drops temps but not all cpu can do it and its not for beginners. but you can get like 10-20 degree drop in temp tho.

i guess there are pelt coolers now bu they cost like $350+ sound get sub ambient with that.

ac cooled room

an open air case it better in temps then an close case with good air flow

but it also helpful to no what your pc is and what you do with it to determen the best option.
