Whats the cheapest way I can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro that is legit?
Like I know that you can buy the upgrade for it in Microsoft store, but thats essentially buying a new OS.
I found that you could also use old keys for previous Pro versions of Windows to upgrade Win10 Home to Pro, but getting a hand on those keys is not easy.

Sadly there is not way to upgrade which in my opinion does not make sense. Microsoft should just let you upgrade and you just pay the difference between regular Windows 10 and pro. Yeah and also it is really hard to get a copy of like windows 7 pro and upgrade from there bc most pcs that have that are prebuilts that have oem keys and OEM keys can not be transferred between systems.

So really you do not have a choice but to buy windows 10 pro normally.

You can buy Windows 10 Pro upgrade keys via the Microsoft Store:

From MS, 10 Pro is $200, not $100. I'm currently running 10 Home (but would like to upgrade to 10 Pro).

You can also buy a W7, W8, W8.1, or W10 Pro key and replace your product key in settings:

Pay for a cheap bulk key from Ebay, or any of the other sites like g2a, scdkey, etc.  Less than $15 for a key.

Fresh install it anyway.

Yeah this is the cheapest that I know of. Other than trying my luck in buying keys, which may or may not work.

Still isn't cheap though. Considering the retail price of Home is $139 and Pro is $199, you pay an extra $39 dollars for an upgrade.

With $16 more dollars I could buy another Win10 key in my area.

While it's technically against TOS if you have any Windows 7 Pro keys lying around (a good place to look is on old Dell and HP computers, particularly ones meant for business use, eg Optiplex). You can enter them into your Windows 10 installation and as long as the key  hasn't been used before you will have no problem activating.

Another slightly riskier method is Grey market keys. Any key you buy on eBay or one of the many game key resellers is a legitimately acquired key through either non Microsoft channels (Ingram micro used to work with key resellers) or other means, like left over OEM keys. These keys have a very high success rate and Microsoft will not revoce your activation after the fact. However any purchases from Grey market sellers of any product is risky because you have no recourse if it does work.

I bought a Win 10 Pro key last year for about $15 from scdkey for my new build and have had zero issues! My other windows 7 machines I got the free for them last year also! The only issue I had was I recently tried to upgrade with 21H1 my windows 8.1 laptop and it failed twice! I Had my old 1909 upgrade on a flash drive from last year and copied it to the hard drive on the laptop and it upgraded it fine! After all the 1909 updates it seemed stuck and was staying on 1909. It might have worked after a couple of days but I was impatient and found MS update assistant and it was able to get it to 21H1 after about 5 hrs!
