According to the manual for that motherboard. 

Should be fine if you plug it in correctly.

Just don't try to overclock any CPU, or try to pull more than 90w from a 2x2, or you might have a bad time.

They recommend 2x4 for 130w+.

So I have this motherboard I want to test and I see now that it has 8 pins and the only PSU I have spare is 4 PIN CPU cable would it still work or no? Also is this a good position to test it in?

It'll work, but I don't reccomend it for daily use.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Fedora 38 x86_64

But it will work for like testing a few fans just plugging them in and starting?
