Hey I have a msi motherboard and a gtx 1080 ftw both have 2 ports to connect power do I use both or can I just use one

You can use just one, unless you're extreme overclocking.

Edit: The GPU needs all of it's power connected though.

One is enough on the mobo, the GPU needs both.

Use the 8pin on the board, ignore the 4pin.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
