Have not had a PC since 2015, and used to be an active member on the LTT forums. Life got difficult (better now), and now I’m wanting to get back into tech.

Everything seems sorta foreign too me now, even though it has only been six years. I can’t distinguish which hardware is the best bang for my buck, or what I’m looking at really.

I’m familiar with the brands, but the specifications, product lines, and general pricing seem to be dramatically different.

If anyone has suggestions on budget builds, send them my way!

Kind of a lousy time right now due to excessive shortages of video cards, driving prices well into the range of insanity. It’s bad enough that cards from that time period that you were gaming, are fetching high prices on the used market.

A pre-built is kind of the best deal right now for gaming. Though for all intents and purposes, budget cards are a dead category at this time. Everything is overpriced.

What's your budget? What do you plan to do with your PC? Just gaming or productivity as well? What games are you wanting to play? If productivity, what applications will you be using? Do you already have a monitor, or will you need one? Finally, what country and/or currency?

Also, if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. We can just throw builds at you, but ultimately, you'll still need a certain amount of understanding to decide what matters most to you.

Well, I miss web browsing and researching on a PC. Would love the PC to be somewhat snappy when multitasking, and having windows/tabs open.

I would like to start out with something for light gaming. My budget isn’t the biggest, but I can afford to build on something over time.

I plan on using my television as monitor to save money for the build.
