Hi, so I followed the nvidia instructions as per (https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/news/geforce-rtx-30-series-resizable-bar-support/) following all steps, and it said ReBar enabled in nvidia control panel.

However, straight away I got crashing in MW, can play for up to 10mins, happened in BOCW too.

To fix this I have tried these steps:

Reinstall graphics drivers

Disable ReBar in bios

Disable XMP

Flash old VBIOS back to to GPU

Flash old bios back to MB (F10)

- While using DDU to uninstall drivers almost after every step

I am unsure, how the ReBar tool from nvidia affects the bios of the card so don't know if reinstalling a bios is doing anything. Is the ReBar firmware still on the card dispite VBIOS update?

- Would a fresh install of windows solve my problem or is the firmware on the GPU the issue?

I am no longer concerned about have ReBar and probably won't ever try to update again. I would just like my pc to work as it should.

About half of the crashes result in dev error: 5763

the other half result in the game freezing but not CTD, must force close

I believe normal PC use (not gaming) seems unaffected.

Thanks for any help in advance

Have you read this? I would say at the very least a memory test wouldn't hurt.

Search for "Windows Memory Diagnostic" in your start menu and have it reboot and run.

u can check that easily, turn it on in the bios and check?

But, no, if u flashed back old vbios it obviously shouldnt.

But, im pretty sure you had to set the boot option in bios to UEFI for rebar to work properly, did you do that?

Can you clarify the steps for "turn it on in the bios and check". This is his GPU's vBIOS he's talking about, not his motherboards BIOS.

ReBar needs a compatible motherboard BIOS, yes, but another significant step is you use a tool from your cards manufacturer which flashes the GPU with a new vBIOS that is entirely separate from the motherboards BIOS.

So, i've flashed bios and vbios back to previous versions, (so it is disabled, as per nvidia control panel at least). I mean is ReBar still in some way on the GPU dispite all efforts to remove. I have transplanted the gpu into another system and will test tomorrow to see if problem persists.

Good idea, I have transplanted the GPU to another system to see if problem persists. If it does not then ill try this. Thanks

like i said it shouldnt since u flashed back the vbios…

whats the boot option in your bios now, and did you recently change it?

not that I remember, I assumed this was default though maybe not, I shall check.

Whats annoying is that I cant get my system working properly, the feature isn't even supported in games I play yet I just felt like it was worth while doing the update.
