Which Monitor to Buy? (S2721DGF or 27GL850-B)

Areyn13

So i've been looking for a 1440p 144hz+ ips gaming monitor and have narrowed my options down to two choices + 1 extra. Keep in mind prices are in AUD (australian dollarydoos):

  1. Dell S2721DGF (The cheapest option on sale for $383)

  2. LG 27GL850-B (Usually quite a bit more expensive but on sale for only $479)

  3. ASUS VG27AQ (Throwing in as a possible 3rd option but i believe it's quite a bit slower in response time althought higher contrast ratio, currently $469)

Ryzen 5800x | Asus ROG STRIX B550-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16gb | ASUS TUF GAMING OC RTX 3070 Ti | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1tb | Corsair RM750x

I have the Dell on my work computer, it's lovely. I have the 1080p version of the LG at home, it's equally lovely.

I would probably go for the Dell, just because of price. But the LG will probably calibrate more evenly if you use something like an i1 Display Pro or whatever.. The Dell gets pretty dark in the areas of the scroll bars, it's a little odd.

If all you're doing is gaming, and you don't do anything that requires remotely accurate color, just save your money and get the Dell. It's 165Hz.

Yeah the price drop is definitely more tempting, how are the black levels for you? i don't mind blacks looking more grey, it's not like i've ever had an OLED or VA panel to compare, but in dark scenes are how are they? also what do you mean by dark in the areas of the scroll bars?

In objective performance the Dell is the best out of them. So if the prices are roughly the same, i'd take that one.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Black levels are totally fine.
