You guys know that if you have SLI the gddr5 don't stack, if you have a card with 3 gb gddr5 then add 1 or more it will stay at 3 gb gddr5.

Emmh... Maybe consider killing yourself before you talk to me?

Pople on this forum though some of them had a brain, turns out, no.

But if I had the money wouldnt it be better to go 780ti or 780?

Kinda sure nvidia is more 4k ready but if you're going with water cooling I'd recommend 290x x2 or the new r9 295 thinggy that's coming out.

3GB is not enough for 4K. SLI780s are not enough for 4K.

Only way you're going to get decent FPS is to go with multiple Titans or Titan Blacks

Sorry? SLI 780Ti is better than SLI Titan Blacks at high res?

If you went through and read some other posts, you'll realise that right now, 3GB is enough for most games. But there are some games right now that will use more than 3GB. In the near future, more and more games will use more than 3GB.

I'm not "getting on the vram hype train". I had SLI 780Tis with 3 monitors, and I was hitting VRAM limits in certain games. Now that I switched to a Titan Black, I no longer hit those limits.

I suggest that instead of being aggressive and swearing at me, you should be calm and explain why you think I'm wrong.

i wasnt swearing at u. just swearing.. . And are u suggesting that he spend 3k on 2 titan blacks for 4k? And ive heard the "in the future games will use more than 3gb"  but thats not happening for a couple years. A year ago the same was said for 2gb 680's and 1440p, but look now a year later. And i doubt that your 780ti's were being bottlenecked from 3gb. What framerate were you getting and explain how u were hitting the vram limit

I'm not suggesting it. I'm just saying that it's the only real way to get good FPS with good settings.

I was getting 12FPS in modded Skyrim, and dipping to around the same in AC4 and Far Cry 3 in certain locations. I had GPU-Z running when playing, set to record the maximum. It was saying that I was using 3GB at some point. Playing the same games on a single Titan Black, I get around 30FPS in my Skyrim and never drop down in AC4 and Far Cry 3. It was definitely the VRAM.

No. Not enough VRAM unless you get the 780 Ti 6GB edition, but even then, the memory bus might hinder you (not sure).

Why do you prefer Nvidia?

No. AMD has larger memory buses, and generally more VRAM. For 4k in Modded Skyrim or Crysis 3, you will need the 4GB of the R9 290, or more.

If you want Nvidia, itd probably be best to wait for 6GB 780's or Ti's or Maxwell since you probably will be vram limited at 4K, esp. in modded Skyrim.

The Titan and Titan Black had no problems utilizing all 6GB of vram even on their 384-bit memory buses, so I'd guess that would apply to a 6GB 780 Ti.

On the other hand, 290/X crossfire will probably be in pretty close proximity performance wise to  6GB 780 TI SLI and there are also rumors about 8GB cards at some point so it's up to what you prefer (Mantle v. Nvidia features, drivers, SLI v. Crossfire, etc, etc).

The higher the resolution gets the better the AMD cards perform compared to the Nvidea
