Acrobat Reader is for Windows only. However, there is a PDF reader already installed on Ubuntu - you should just be able to double-click your PDF and it will open.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Whatever command needed to install the piece of software you're wanting

It might ask you for verification, where you'll input your password.

Adobe products are not available on Linux, however.

But any way, how create my own username and  password just in case I want to install a program compatible with Linus ?

Since this is Ubuntu, there should be a graphical way to do that. Settings > Users or something. There should also be the Software Center that let's you install software in a graphical way. But using the terminal is totally fine, if you want to learn about it.

It's Linux (as in Unix), not Linus (who was the creator of Linux).

Also the terminal runs as your currently logged in user (in this case the name is 'user') unless you specify otherwise (using su).

If you want to create a new user, assuming this is Ubuntu since its on a Dell, then go into 'search' and search for 'Users'. You can create new standard & administrator users in there.

Otherwise you can do so through the terminal using the 'adduser' command. You should do 'adduser' instead of 'useradd' so that it prompts you for a password, creates a home directory, and prompts you to put in other info (Name, etc...). Useradd i typically use more for "run as" user accounts on server.
