Remember this battery is nearly 10 years old. So 60% is actually good. I've done some research and it seems like this is common if the battery hasn't been used for 2+ months.

I was planning on selling this laptop, do you think it's worth getting a new battery or should I just sell it and tell them the battery doesn't work?

Found this battery, do you think it's good enough? All others are from weird websites and I really don't trust them RDY Laptop Accu A32-K53 voor Asus K53 K53E K53S K53SD K53SJ K53SV K53T K53U K53Z X53 X53E X53S X53SV X53U X54 X54C X54H X54L A53 A53E K53TA K53TK X53B X53SC X53SD X53T X53Z K54: Amazon.nl

I would leave it up to the person you sell it to to buy the battery at first and if you can't sell it then replace it and try selling it. Even if you buy and replace the battery you may not end up making up the cost when you go to sell it

I've had to replace the DJ jack about 3 times because I had to hold the charger for it to work. Now it once again won't charge, but now it's different. I've had this issue for about a year that it was painfully slow (4% in 1hr), but now it won't charge at all. It says 0%. I've had it on the charger for about 6 hours, but still nothing. It's a known issue for this laptop but I don't know if this is actually the DC jack or battery. I've used multiple chargers and none seem to work.

Some important stuff:

- Laptop not used for about 6 months, charged slowly before and now won't charge at all

- Tried original charger and charger from an old Toshiba laptop (their power ratings match)

- Battery health was 60% before the 6 months, now it's 2%

- Asus K53S

These 2 reasons lead me to believe its the battery. 60%battery health is pretty low already. I repair laptops for a college and we replace batteries at 75% health

I agree with mr fobs, when I first read this I thought it was the battery, if you have swapped the thing twice, you probably need a new battery. Be careful where you get one though.

Remember this battery is nearly 10 years old. So 60% is actually good. I've done some research and it seems like this is common if the battery hasn't been used for 2+ months.
