  • 3 weeks later...

i know i made a topic about this before but i keep seeing with the same msi gaming x trio 3080 that i have getting much higher 3dmark timespy graphics scores without overclocking for example look at here https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/msi-geforce-rtx-3080-gaming-x-trio-review,26.html apparently according to guru3d the 3080 i have is getting like 18000+ gpu score. i get around 17600 somewhere near that. i use a 5800x. im just confused as to why this is.

What's your temp? Edge temp, hotspot and VRAM.

Also what is your average boost frequencies?

Can link your 3DMark result?

A score of 17600 is within the margin of error. Close all background tasks, and i mean ALL. (i.e Discord, chrome, etc.) and test again.

The benchmarks they show are in a controlled environment with perfect conditions, even down to ambient temps. the 3080 you have is still a bitchin' card, don't worry about the numbers and just enjoy~

You're thermal throttling, didn't boost as high as other 3080 that score 18.5k GPU score.

Try open your side panel and check if your GPU temperature drop on high load.

From TechPowerup review, the GPU come with a secondary bios with more aggressive FAN profile. Try switch to that BIOS?

Didn't really change much. You're probably on Quiet BIOS, flip it to Gaming BIOS with more aggressive fan profile.
