Power the system off & remove/re-seat the graphics card.

If it's still the same - and have no other card or system to compare it with - it'll be more than likely a failed card.

hello, i recently bought an ASUS GTX 1650 off amazon, and since installing it into my pc, it hasn't turned on once. the fans haven't even spun up. i've been searching forums and YouTube videos looking for a possible fix, but nothing has worked yet. luckily my cpu has integrated graphics though. can someone help me out?

my specs:

  • Intel core i5 10400
  • MSI b460m pro vdh wifi
  • stock Intel cooler (for now)
  • Patriot viper elite 2x8gb ddr4 2666mhz
  • Crucial mx500 500gb ssd
  • Rosewill 600w 80+ bronze psu
  • Cooler Master masterbox mb600l odd atx mid tower

and here is the graphics card: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08GL4YJK6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The computer doesn't turn on at all with the card installed? Like no fans or lights? Or it does turn on just no display? Need to be a little bit more specific.

A couple of things spring toi mind:

With the graphics card REMOVED, what output do you get from the HDMI/DVI/d-SUB sockets on the motherboard?

With the graphics card IN, what output do you get from the ports on the graphics card?

Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Welcome to the forums!

everything else works perfectly fine, just the gpu isn't working. my display output is coming from my mobo since my cpu has integrated graphics.

with the card removed, everything works perfectly fine. with the card in, there is no output from the gpu. the fans don't even spin up.

With the graphics card in, did you run the video OUT from the graphics card?

Plug the monitor in the output of the GPU.
Usualy the one on the motherboard turns off, if it detects one dedicated plugged in.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

For "sanity" that would need to be confirmed in the BIOS.

It 'should', but can't be taken for granted.  🙂

yes, i have tried that, and got nothing

If you're happy & familiar with how to navigate the BIOS, you should look to confirm that the "first graphics output" is set to Auto or otherwise switches the on-board graphics in the CPU off, if a (discrete) graphics card is detected.

i may have found the problem; when using board explorer in the bios, it thinks the 16x slot is empty. does this mean it just isn't being detected by the mobo?

Power the system off & remove/re-seat the graphics card.

If it's still the same - and have no other card or system to compare it with - it'll be more than likely a failed card.
